Year One have had the most exciting Science Week and enjoyed exploring and investigating ‘Sound’.
We used ‘Magic Spots’ outdoors to listen for sounds in the environment and then learned all about sound vibrations by watching rice ‘dance’ on drums.
We used telephones and tubes to explore how sound waves travel and created our very own telephones using cups and string.
We also created fact files all about the scientist Miller Hutchinson who invented the hearing aid. We discussed what it might be like to be deaf and learned how to sign ‘The Rainbow Song’ using British Sign Language (BSL).
