Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Kingswood! Firstly, the children took part in a blindfolded trail where they had to describe, compare and offer reasons for their views and opinions and work together to gain a sense of place. After this, the children used Ordnance Survey maps to discover their local area and learnt more about the UK and wider world. They went to lots of different landmarks that represented parts of the UK.
The children then made maps and responded to geographical questions with their own ideas. After this, the children were orienteering using appropriate geographical vocabulary, employing a wider range of fieldwork techniques and interpreting information from different maps. They had such a wonderful day!
