Year 1 Trip to Kingswood Trust Centre

Year 1 visited Kingswood Trust Centre for the day to develop their geographical skills as part of their current Dimensions theme ‘Never Eat Shredded Wheat’.

He enjoyed lots of opportunities for map reading and comparing different localities. We completed a ‘peg orienteering’ challenge around the grounds and followed a map through the forest to find our way along a ‘Wildlife Trail’. We had so much fun creating our own maps of the centre right on the forest floor – we used as many natural resources as we could find!

We finished off an amazing day with an ‘Animal Encounter’ to embed Science skills and knowledge we have been learning in class. The hands-on experiences with the rabbits and guinea pigs made us all smile…we even had the chance to feed the sheep!

What a wonderful day packed full of super learning!
