Year 1 ‘Jurassic Hunter’ Inspiration Day

In History, Year 1 have been learning all about Mary Anning and how she became a famous fossil hunter.

We had an amazing ‘Inspiration Day’ celebrating everything we are learning about fossils and prehistoric treasures.

We performed tongue twisters, hunted around school for fossils and measured the length of an actual Ichthyosaurus at 5.2 metres!

We freed dinosaurs from ice, sketched fossils, created our own salt dough fossils, excavated dinosaur bones from blocks of stone and used our paleontology skills to uncover fossil pictures from sand.

What an exciting day full of wonderful learning!
